About PuckLab

Hockey has never had more data. Every shift, every shot, every second — it's all being captured. But having data and actually understanding the game through it are two very different things.

PuckLab exists to close that gap.

It started with a simple question: Is this player actually driving play, or just along for the ride? Answering that led to another question — how does that change depending on who they're playing with? That led to line combinations. Line combinations led to deployment context. Deployment context led to contract valuation. Before I knew it, one question had turned into an entire platform spanning players, teams, lines, goaltenders, ML models, with rich NHL historical data and still plenty of ideas and unanswered questions.

I didn't set out to build all of this. I just kept following the next question. PuckLab is what happens when you let the numbers speak for themselves and refuse to stop listening. Whether you're a GM evaluating a trade, a fantasy player hunting for an edge, or a fan who wants to understand the game at a deeper level, PuckLab was built to answer your questions.
